Nature Centre Interpreter in Salmon Arm, BC 

The Salmon Arm Bay Nature Enhancement Society (SABNES) is seeking an enthusiastic summer student to act as a Nature Interpreter at the Brighouse Nature Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about nature, protecting the environment, education, and community engagement.

The Brighouse Nature Centre is located adjacent to the Marine Peace Park parking lot, beside the concession stand and pubic washrooms. It is a small white building with a blue roof.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staffing the Brighouse Nature Centre, which is open 7 days a week. This responsibility is shared with another student with some opportunities to work together.

  • Engaging with the general public and children to provide nature interpretation.

  • Collaborating with the Shuswap Trail Alliance to monitor and survey use of the Foreshore Trail, specifically tracking data regarding dogs on the trail.

Qualifications:  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A passion for nature, conserving the environment, teaching others, and serving the community.
